Rocky Mountain Academy Fall 2005 Newsletter
Dear Rocky Mountain Academy Members:
Here is an update on RMAOEM activities and issues of interest.
2006 Annual Educational Conference: We will again partner with Pinnacol Assurance for the 41st Annual Educational Conference to be held January 20-21, 2006 at the Brown Palace Hotel in Denver. The conference will be Friday afternoon and all day Saturday. The theme is “Topics in Chronic Pain Management”. Back by popular demand is Dr. Glenn Pransky who will speak on the role of chronic pain in disability. Conference information is posted on the website: www.rmaoem.org. Please contact Kathleen Hughes if you have any suggestions for sponsors or exhibitors at kathleenhughes@hughesstuart.com.
Enhancing regional participation: Thank you to those who completed the non-Denver metro area member survey. A summary of the results can be found in Appendix 1. Most indicated satisfaction with his/her current level of participation. There was popular support for state updates during the general membership business breakfast meeting, which will be held Saturday morning before the conference. I ask that individuals interested in serving as the state volunteer at the meeting to please contact me. We already have a volunteer from Montana.
Call for nominations: New board members and officers will be elected at the business meeting for the following positions: Vice-President, Secretary-Treasurer, and a general Board member. The RMAOEM Board wishes to solicit nominees. Please contact me if you are interested.
House of Delegates activities: Brian Beatty and Hugh Macaulay will again be representing RMAOEM in the upcoming HOD meeting. Topics to be discussed include the potential reorganization and restructuring of component societies. We will keep you informed about the proceedings.
Website: We want your input on ways to make our website a more useful resource for members. Please visit the website at www.rmaoem.org and submit feedback for any additions or changes.
Member contact information: Please keep RMAOEM informed of any email or other address changes by sending your information to Jennifer at jenniferoccmed@hotmail.com
